Flat Stanley
We were asked to take Flat Stanley on a few adventures, take pictures and then add them to our classes’ wikispace. Flat Stanley is a character from a book that is often read in younger elementary grade levels. I took Flat Stanley out for the day which you can learn about at the site below. Students in elementary grades often write about their adventures with Flat Stanley. We shared our adventures through a collaborative project, by creating a class wiki space.

Skills Learned and expanded:
Through this process I have expanded my knowledge of cropping and editing photos. I have also learned a few helpful websites to use when editing photos. In addition, I learned how to use audacity to record material and then convert it to an MP3 file. This assignment has helped me learn how to do these things, but it has also introduced me to more components of technology that I could use in my classroom.

Reflection:
Through this activity, I learned how my students could participate in a collaborative assignment at a higher grade level. While my students may not enjoy carrying Flat Stanley around with them, we could use a wiki space to work on other collaborative assignments. We could also use the wiki space as a place to compile resources we use in our classroom. This activity also allowed me to learn how to add audio to wiki space and how to record audio with a music lead in. I think these are great components that I could incorporate in assignments I give my students.
